Cinemanita

At first glance, De Nieuw Anita may appear to be nothing more than an unassuming little bar in central Amsterdam… heck, it could even pass as someones heavily furnished front room. Well, folks, we’re here to tell you it is much, much more. Live music, comedy, theatre, exhibitions, DJs, cinema and cocktails - De Nieuw Anita is a cosy cultural arts cafe that truly has it all. Every Monday, a different cult classic is screened in their Cinem-Anita (get it??) for a mere €3, with the film only being revealed on the day. As if that wasn’t exciting enough, you can also indulge in a 3-course, organic & vegan meal from Anita’s neighbour, Robin Food, for next to nothing before the film!

Omar Apollo

This Tuesday, let yourself be swept away by the soulful sounds of Mexican-American crooner, Omar Apollo. Apollo is making sweet, soft waves in the music world right now with his very own blend of soul, jazz, R&B and alternative music. His dreamy lyrics alternate between Spanish and English, making his sound all the more seductive. He performs at Cinetol; a very cool arts & music venue in trendy East-Amsterdam. Get swooning, ladies and gents!

Foodstock Live presents YĪN YĪN x PVC - Beach Release Party

Where: Woodstock ’69, Zeeweg 94, 2051 EB Bloemendaal

We all need a little help getting over humpday sometimes… and what better way to kill mid-week blues than a beach party at Amsterdam’s famous Woodstock! This Wednesday, electronic duo YĪN YĪN will release an exclusive vinyl single via Paradiso Vinyl Club. YĪN YĪN is a collaborative DJ project with a funky disco sound, heavily inspired by Asian psych and old school funk. Somehow, the end product is a suitably sun-drenched, danceable sound just perrrrfect for a beach party! As if you needed any more convincing — it’s free!

NEMO Zomerdeck

Where: NEMO Science Museum, Oosterdok 2, 1011 VX Amsterdam

Hundreds of visitors pass through the amazing NEMO Science Museum every day, but too many leave without seeing one of its main attractions — the roof! As the highest city square in Amsterdam, NEMO’s roof is home to interactive sculptures, art exhibitions, amazing food, and most notably; an unrivalled view of Amsterdam’s historic harbour. Every Thursday of the summer NEMO’s terrace will be home to live music and beer tastings from local breweries. Music, beer and rooftop views? Say no more, we’re sold!
