As the worlds biggest electronic music event descends on little ol’ Amsterdam, it brings with it over 500 events, thousands of visitors, and the kind of infectious buzz that you can literally feel in the air. Amongst all this however, things can get a little overwhelming, and a lot commercial. If you’re trying to avoid the “same old” this ADE, Alternative Amsterdam Dance Event is the one for you. After last years successful edition, the super-cool collective Amsterdam Alternative are providing a completely independent line up of events — smaller, cheaper, and freakier than the rest! Squat venue OT301 invite you to get down to an exciting, eclectic line up this Thursday for a mere €7.50… leaving you ample cash to check out the rest of the AADE events, which you can find on the Amsterdam Alternative website: https://amsterdamalternative.nl/agenda/8023
Here’s a fun idea - party through ADE’s opening night right into Thursday, then go in hot to its best (and only?) sports tournament - The 2019 RA Cup. This annual charity four-a-side football tournament has become a rather iconic staple of ADE, with RA and De School’s teams facing off against a whole host of teams both international and local. Berlin Atonal Festival, Helsinki’s Post Bar, Dekmantel and Garage Noord will all be kickin’ it in De School for the chance to win the revered RA Cup trophy. Plus, there’ll be a FIFA tournament open to the public if you’re not quite up for exercise. Entry is just €5, and all proceeds go to the incredibly deserving Extinction Rebellion team. Saving the world, football and ADE wrapped into one?! We’ll see you on the sidelines!
Innovative dance collective Verknipt is a party powerhouse within the Dutch electronic music scene, and their ADE parties are nothing short of legendary. This year they’re hosting events on Friday, Saturday and Sunday - just don’t ask us to pick one! Verknipt’s insane line up of DJs will be playing in a secret warehouse location reserved especially for ADE madness, with three separate areas and no sound restrictions — so you can rave into the AM without any pesky neighbours killing the vibe! If you’re serious about techno, house, and everything in between, Verknipt have you covered this ADE.
At this daytime dance off, Detroit legend DJ Bone will bring his Homeless Homies fundraiser party to ADE. Homeless Homies takes the ethos of electronic music as a universal, uniting force up a notch, as DJ Bone and friends host epic parties to raise money for the homeless one city at a time. At this very special ADE edition, he will be joined by other huge names like Dubfire and Peggy Gou as they tear up Shelter’s basement. All proceeds will be donated across the international Homeless Homies foundation, as well as two extremely deserving local homeless shelters. Because you can’t fight for your right to party without also fighting for the rights of those less fortunate!
If there’s one party that represents the spirit of ADE, it would have to be the epic marathon that is Het Weekend. From Friday to Monday, De School will become a sexy, sweaty swarm of ravers… but only the best will last. Featuring a massive line up of mostly Dutch talent, Het Weekend shows us foreign folk why the Dutch are the real daddies of dance music. If you wanna get heavy this ADE, head straight to De School, and settle in for an entire weekend of electronic dreams.
